Melbourne Yarra Valley for winetasting

I really enjoyed my tour with Sean and his company Dancing Kangaroo Tours in the Yarra Valley in a small group of 11. The winetasting was mixed up with a pizza for midday, some cheesetasting, a stop at a chocolaterie (more a chocolate shop) and a brewery for cider and beer. It was fun and the Yarra Valley is also not too far from Melbourne (one hour drive each direction). There are 70 vinyards you can choose out of for a tasting. The next time I will for sure see what a hot-air ballon journey costs.

My tip: Check out the vinyards for wild kangaroos.

Melbourne Great Ocean Road

It was a great and full-packed day with Go West Tours. Timing for the attractions was great and also our tour guide Cath. I am quite happy I didn´t had to drive myself and the view from the front passenger seat was awesome.

Melbourne Mornington Peninsula

I was pretty disappointed from the daytour to Mornington Peninsula. The reason therefore is the trip I have done with Bunyip tours, which let no room to enjoy the country beside a little stop in Sorrento. Mainly the tour was designed to catch all the touristy like attractions avaiable. It is sad, because the quarantine station, the enchanted gardens, the strawberry farm (of which I could not even get a view of without paying for picking) and the wine tasting took up all the time. Nice activities probably if you want, but not what I came here for. There is no time to enjoy a walk alongside the country or down to the south end or at the beach with its awesome bathing boxes. Sadly we also did not enjoy the Hot Springs there. When choosing to go there let those trips aside and choose to rent a vehicle on your own, to explore the real Mornington Peninsula.

Melbourne Fitzroy

Fitzroy is the place to go in the (early) evening when all the bars will open and it comes alive. A nice way to go there is to take the Tram No. 35, which is the free cirlce tram, and leave it at the north-east corner to walk to Brunswick Street. The most exciting thing of Fitzroy however was for me the street art. For shopping and drinking I would prefer Chapel Street in St. Kilda.
